Session Description

Shuffling and half asleep, so many people coast through the day. From class to class, home to work, and stuck in traffic in-between, many have yet to tap into a passionate reason for living. It's not that this life is bad, but it's not the life of their dreams. In his book, Wide Awake, Erwin McManus opens readers' eyes to see the eight crucial attributes of those who achieve the life of their dreams. It is every person's responsibility to discover and develop the gifts given to them by God. McManus writes, "The future is not waiting for us, it is waiting within us." The world is desperate for the best each person can offer, if they would only relentlessly pursue and achieve it. Please join Erwin and Kim McManus for a discussion and Q&A on living “wide awake.” They will challenge you to wake up and rediscover your dreams, hopes and passions, and live the life that God intended you to live.”

Kim McManus

Kim leads SHE Community - a force of women at Mosaic who desire to voice a message of faith, hope, and love to Los Angeles and to all women on this planet. At the age of eight, Kim was sent to live with a foster family in rural North Carolina and always struggled with the feeling of being an orphan. As a young girl, she learned to find her strength in God, who taught her that she was not alone, that He loved her, and that Jesus was the One she truly needed to be whole. Today, Kim is using her voice to help women find freedom from fear, abuse, and hopelessness, and is mentoring leaders who will shape our culture not only relationally, but also through entrepreneurial ingenuity.
